CWA District 6/DEXYP Bargaining Report #10

Since December 13, 2017, the Union has been trying to get the Company to allow employees paid time off for the 2017 Christmas Days, but to no avail.  The Company response included a demand that, in exchange for granting employees the Christmas Days, required the Union to agree to a contract that would have shifted 50+ years of negotiated contractual language into Company policy!  As you may know, the Company can change or eliminate policies at any time without discussing, bargaining or gaining the consent of the Union.  Negotiated contractual language, on the other hand, cannot be changed without negotiations between the parties and the Union's agreement to do so.  The impact of what the Company is demanding in exchange for the 2017 Christmas Days is tantamount to allowing the fox to guard the hen house!  We simply could not agree to such terms that would ultimately have a negative, if not devastating, impact on the membership.

The Union is also waiting on the Company to provide “modeling” numbers regarding their proposed sales compensation plan in order for the Union to determine the winners and losers in this new plan.  No agreements have been reached.  We will continue to remain on call for future discussions.

NO JOB TITLES OR JOB DESCRIPTIONS HAVE CHANGED OR BEEN AGREED TO!!!

WEAR RED EVERY THURSDAY UNTIL WE GET A CONTRACT!!!
